Overview

McGuireWoods LLP has an opening for a Practice Assistant in our Baltimore, MD office. The Practice Assistant will support attorneys with administrative tasks which include opening new matters, billing, managing time entry, travel coordination and calendar management. The ideal candidate will have two years of legal administrative support experience, strong organizational skills, and be comfortable working with technology.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate day-to-day work-flow of attorneys' matters and serve as the primary point of contact for attorneys.
  • Manage attorney calendars, e-mail traffic, phone calls and mail.
  • Filing of case documents, retrieving case files, and preparing files for closing in accordance with Records Department procedures.
  • Maintain electronic and hard copy closing binders and amendment binders.
  • Arranging team conference calls as directed, make travel arrangements as needed.
  • Handling payment of matter related invoices and Attorney expense reports via ChromeRiver.
  • Performing other administrative tasks and special projects as requested (IE: entering Attorney s time, maintain/organizing paper files, etc.).
Qualifications
  • Requires a minimum of two or more years of litigation assistant experience.
  • Preferred experience in e-filing, time entry and billing software (Elite), and expense reimbursement software (ChromeRiver).
  • Strong aptitude for technology and learning new systems.
  • Excellent communication and proofreading skills.
  • Planning and strong organizational skills.
  • Coordinate day-to-day work-flow of attorneys' matters and serve as the primary point of contact for attorneys.
  • Manage attorney calendars, e-mail traffic, phone calls and mail.
