The Blast Injury Research Coordination Office (BIRCO) mission is to coordinate and leverage blast injury research expertise and investments from the DoD, other Federal agencies, academia, industry, and our international partners and allies to promote collaboration and development of medical countermeasures to prevent, mitigate, and treat blast injuries. The BIRCOs Executive Agent support mission consists of five primary lines of effort that address a broad spectrum of blast injury research program coordination activities, including: Identify blast injury knowledge gaps; Shape current and future research programs to fill knowledge gaps; Facilitate collaboration among DoD and other Federal organizations, academia, and industry to leverage blast injury research expertise; Disseminate blast injury research information among diverse communities both within and outside of the DoD; Promote information sharing and partnerships

What Is the position?

The Project Coordinator - Brain Health Research (Senior Analyst), located at Fort Detrick, MD, supports all facets of the BIRCO mission with qualitative and quantitative information and recommendations to assist the BIRCO in interacting with a broad community of stakeholders, both within and outside of the Department of Defense.

What will I get to do?

Specific primary responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

* Collect, organize, and analyze blast injury research program and project data from laboratories and organizations of the DoD, other Federal agencies, academia, and industry.

* Compile, analyze, and synthesize information and data from blast injury research programs and projects.

* Review blast injury research documents, such as research contract, grant progress, and other technical reports, and synthesize findings and key accomplishments into technically accurate and clearly written reports and presentations.

* Provide subject matter expertise to assist the BIRCO establish Joint Research Initiatives focused on specific blast injury topics.

* Provide technical expertise to support development of informational products for diverse audiences, such as newsletters, information papers, articles for websites, abstracts, manuscripts, and other publications, that convey the objectives and accomplishments of Blast Injury Research efforts.

* Provide scientific/technical expertise to the BIRCO in support of technical coordinating meetings, conferences, symposia, etc.

Required Qualifications

* US Citizen with current DoD Secret Security Clearance.

* Doctorate level degree in biomedical sciences or bioengineering disciplines.

* Fifteen years of experience in DoD research, development, test & evaluation, acquisitions, and program management.

* Extensive experience and knowledge of the Defense biomedical research, development, test, and evaluation community.

* Experience and expertise in independent preparation of administrative and technical correspondence, such as analytical reports, technical/scientific reports, and information papers.

* Ability to synthesize and present technical analysis, data, and information through effective briefings and presentations to small and large audiences.

* Experience in project execution, to include analysis of DoD policies, directives, and instructions, alternatives analysis, and planning and executing projects/programs to achieve objectives.

* Solid working knowledge of standard computer software (Microsoft Office business suite to include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).

* Ability to work well independently and as a member of a cross-functional team.

Compensation

$113,927.72 - $187,981.83

The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may be taken into consideration - contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience. The estimate displayed represents the salary range for this position and is just one component of Cognosante's total compensation package for employees.
