The Accounting Manager will direct the Company's accounting functions and best practices, coordinate the day-to-day functions of the accounting staff, assist engineering and operations with accounting models and provide ongoing communication to the Controller on the status of financial activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Direct the Company's accounting functions and practices and coordinate the day-to-day functions of the accounting staff
* Oversee the preparation and execution of the financial close financial close, reconcile balance sheet accounts, analyze complex P&L financial data, and prepare management reports and other financial information.
* Participate in management reporting and policy making as it pertains to the accounting department
* Ability to communicate and make recommendations to senior level executives as well as various department heads
* Provide technical and analytical guidance in identifying and solving problems within the functional limits of the accounting department
* Responsible for preparing quarterly financial statements, general journal entries, account reconciliations, year-end audits, and annual budgets
* Assist in reviewing trial balance accounts prior to preparation of quarterly financial statements
* Maintain the Company's system of accounts and keep books and records on all transactions and assets
* Ensure compliance with the Company's capital reporting process
* Ensure that all accounts balance and reconcile on a monthly basis
* Establish, review, and maintain system of internal financial controls
* Manage and/or participate in special accounting projects as assigned
* Coach, mentor, and train the accounting team for professional development
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
* Minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
* Proficient with accounting software
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with senior management and other
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve problems in a timely manner
* Self-starter, strong work ethic, and a team player
* Experience with job costing, WIP and cost accounting required
* CPA and/or accounting master's degree preferred
