Position Summary

ACP is seeking a talented Manager, Campaign Communications to join our dynamic Communications team. This role will be pivotal in supporting and executing comprehensive campaign events and related communication strategies. This individual will be responsible for managing various stakeholders to plan and execute our campaigns which includes event logistics and developing compelling messaging to reach our target audience effectively. The ideal candidate will possess experience in creating and running state campaigns, advertising placement, strategic thinking, project management, marketing, event planning and a passion for driving positive change through effective communication.

The Manager will interact with all levels of staff within ACP and with key external stakeholders and members. Excellent communication skills, professionalism, organizational skills and a desire to learn the industry are necessary attributes for this position. The renewable energy industry is a fast paced, emerging space and ACP's Communications team reflects that and manages priorities accordingly. Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities

* Help create, manage, and execute ACP advocacy campaigns in individual states and nationally.

* Assist in the development of advertising strategies for the campaigns.

* Support the development of impactful topline messaging aimed at campaign audiences.

* Assist in the development of a communications strategy (including earned media) for ACP campaigns.

* Support planning and execution of all logistics aspects related to ACP campaigns, including budget tracking, event planning and execution, and managing consultants working at events.

* Collaborate with external and internal campaign teams to understand campaign goals, target audience, and key messages and ensure communication strategies align accordingly.

* Coordinate with internal ACP staff including campaign managers, policy experts, and leadership team members, to ensure consistent messaging and communication across all channels.

* Manage meeting scheduling for internal stakeholders, consultants, external groups, and regional organizations, adhering to timelines and deadlines for all parties.

* Create reports and presentations to showcase ACP's work in the states to the Board, members, and key internal stakeholders. This includes drafting content for the ACP member newsletters.

* In conjunction with the greater Communications team, help create compelling and persuasive messaging for various communication channels, including press releases, social media posts, website content, email newsletters, and campaign materials.

* Monitor media coverage and public perception related to our campaigns and proactively address any issues or concerns that may arise.

* Work closely with graphic designers, videographers, and other creative professionals to develop visually appealing and engaging content to support campaign objectives.

* Track and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies and tactics and recommend optimization and improvement.

* Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in communication and advocacy, and apply relevant insights to enhance our communication efforts.

Education, Experience, Skills

* Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, advertising, marketing, or a related field required.

* 4-6 years of progressive experience working in public relations, events, communications or marketing with a focus on advocacy campaigns or political communications required.

* Experience in creating and managing advocacy campaigns.

* Experience in ad buy strategy.

* Excellent proofreading, writing, and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and compelling messages for diverse audiences.

* Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated track record working effectively under pressure, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and meeting tight deadlines.

* Experience coordinating relationships or working directly with media.

* Proficiency in using various communication channels and tools, including social media platforms, content management systems, email marketing software, and media monitoring tools.

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

* Knowledge of and passion for social and political issues, committed to advancing our organization's mission and values.

Job Conditions

We are a fast-paced, high-energy organization with a very ambitious agenda and a staff that is highly motivated. This position may experience high-level work demands and independent decision-making under tight timelines. Occasional travel outside of the Washington, DC area for meetings or events may be required. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. ACP will not sponsor applicants for work visas.

We reasonably believe that the base salary range for this position is $75,000- 100,000. At ACP, a wide range of factors are considered when making compensation decisions including and not limited to skill set, experience, training, education, knowledge, and other business and organizational needs. ACP offers 401k, PTO and sick leave, commuter benefits, wellness reimbursement, and professional development/tuition reimbursements for eligible employees.
