Medical Assistant - Part-Time - Prenatal Center

Job description

The Medical Assistant (MA) performs clinical duties and some administrative function under the direction of medical group providers to include preparing patients for examination, taking and recording vital signs, patient histories, and assisting with various procedures.

Required:

-Medical Assistant experience and certification required.
-Bilingual and fluent in English and Spanish required.
-CPR certification required within 90 days of employment.
-Knowledge of and experience with patient scheduling systems and patient EMR documentation is preferred.

Additional requirements:
Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills towards patients and healthcare team members. Models sensitivity to patients, including effective telephone and verbal communication in urgent situations. Demonstrates effective oral/writing communication. Must be able to pass all competencies related to Medical Assistant duties. Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care/contact for adult OB/GYN patients. Must possess excellent customer relations skills avoiding antagonism, conflicts and undue anxiety. Must possess keyboard/computer skills.

Position expectation summary:
Performs both office administration duties to include clerical and operational support to the practice as well as performs clinical duties under the direction of the OB/GYN Provider to include preparing patients for examination, taking and recording vital signs and patient histories, and assisting with various duties. The duties will be assigned as needed to assist with the clinic daily operations.
