ROI Construction is in search of a detail-oriented and proactive Controller to join our finance team in Millersville, MD. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Compensation: Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000

Responsibilities

The role will primarily involve overseeing the organization's financial activities, including journal entries, month-end close, quarterly-end close, year-end close, and balance sheet account reconciliations
Prepare timely and accurate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
Run payroll for employees and subcontractors weekly
Ensure that all statutory requirements of the organization are met including payroll taxes, income tax, and other necessary reports/filings (e.g. 1099, 940, 941, W-2, etc.)
Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions
Assist the CFO and the executive team in the annual budgeting and planning process
Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Ensure accurate job costing and follow job close-out procedures
Collaborate with various departments (operations, sales, project management, inventory manager) to ensure seamless integration of financial data with operational activities
Perform annual workers comp audits
Handle any ad hoc finance/accounting requests that come up in day-to-day

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
5+ years of experience in accounting required
Experienced with QBO (Accounting software) is required
Experience with Acculynx (CRM) is a plus
Experience with inventory management is a plus
Experience in the construction or renewable energy industry is a plus
Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, and relevant compliance regulations is required
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity
Must have a high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality
