Job description
Naturalists perform interpretive duties, work with volunteers, and lead related program work at Winkler Botanical Preserve.
Pay Rate: $14.00 per hour (hourly rate depends on tasks performed)

- Lead the presentation of programs for school and public groups.
- Assist with preparation of exhibits and other interpretive materials.
- Assist with preparation programs for school and public groups.
- Assist with social media posts and photography.
- Work with volunteers.
- Perform other related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least two years of high school education in some natural resource field.
- 1 year of college preferred.
- General knowledge of biology and ecology.
- At least a basic knowledge of flora and fauna of Northern Virginia.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the public and staff members.
- Ability to teach and engage children in learning.
- Availability to work additional hours during peak operating times, holidays, nights and weekends.
- Certification or ability to obtain certification in CPR and first aid and AED.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the position.
- Required to purchase and wear standard uniform.
