Your role in helping us shape the future:

U.S. News empowers everyone to thrive. In this position, you will have the opportunity to leverage your strengths and skills to help people make smart decisions about the things that really matter. The Research Intern, 360 will analyze companies in the Insurance sector, using our fast-paced 360 approach of unbiased, data-driven reviews. The 360 Reviews team operates as a startup within the larger U.S. News organization, giving it a fast-moving, innovative culture, along with an established and respected media company. Interns on the 360 research team have the opportunity to make a real impact on the development and direction of a U.S. News product. Though 360 Reviews is based in our Washington, DC office, this position is open to remote workers.

Collaborating with an enthusiastic team of product managers, SEO analysts and editors, the Research Intern, 360 Insurance will have the opportunity to leverage strengths and skills to assist with the development of methods and models during a 1- year internship to make recommendations about insurance products to people who visit our website.

Position Requirements

You should definitely have:
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in statistics, data science, business or a related field. Note: this is a full-time internship.
  • Advanced analysis and modeling skills in Google Sheets.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and turn projects around quickly.
  • A careful attention to detail and good problem solving abilities.
  • Proactive and self-motivated approach to your work. You should be able to work both independently and cross-functionally with team members.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; you should be responsive to questions and data requests from team members.
  • Intellectual curiosity about the insurance sector, and helping consumers make smart choices about selecting a provider.


It would be nice if you had:
  • Previous experience working with project management tools such as Airtable and Jira.
  • Entrepreneurial / startup experience.
