Job Questions:
- Assist in the design and animation of cohesive graphic executions in a wide variety of non-traditional aspect ratios, for use on the in-arena LED displays at Nationwide Arena.
- Assist the Motion Graphics Producer to execute, edit, and maintain the in-arena and social media graphics packages throughout the season.
- Assist the production team to create and deliver accompanying LED animations for open videos, crowd pumpers, and various additional in-game features.
- Assist the Motion Graphics Producer and Digital Marketing team to create animations for the Blue Jackets' social media platforms.
Daily Production:
- Assist production team and front office departments to assist with on-going motion graphics projects.
- Edit motion graphics templates in Adobe After Effects.
- Assist with versioning existing graphics packages when needed.
- Format and export deliverable files using Adobe Media Encoder.
- Assist the production team in concepting new creative elements.
- Utilize asset libraries and 3rd party templates to create original content for digital distribution and in-arena applications.
Learning Objectives:
- To understand and be able to perform the basic daily responsibilities of a motion designer in a professional sports organizations' production department.
- To acquire hands-on experience with various animation and post-production software.
- To develop an understanding of and ability to animate 3D graphics.
- To produce a personal motion graphics reel.
Intern Benefits:
- Average of 20 intern hours available each week.
- Internship timeline - August - End of the Season
Requirements:
- Must be enrolled in a two or four year educational program.
- Must earn credit to qualified for internship
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, often stressful production environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Background in 2D/3D animation, graphic design, and/or motion graphics production.
