We are looking for an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to join Kaiser Aluminum Operations in Newark Ohio!


What you will work on:

  • This position is responsible for ensuring that job safe practices (JSPs) are in place for all positions. and that employees are knowledgeable about the safety issues relevant to their work.
  • Additionally, this position ensures compliance with environmental rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for the development of Best in Class work environment that is free of safety hazards.
  • Routinely review the facility for unsafe conditions and environmental concerns and ensure resolution of those concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Conduct or coordinate safety training as required.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of an effective ergonomic program.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations.
  • Lead the development of environmentally friendly practice.
  • Serve as champion of the ISO-14001 EMS program.
  • Utilize KPS tools for problem resolution.
  • Work with other departments as required to effectively resolving environmental, health and safety issues.
  • Ability to interact regularly with vendors, training suppliers and outside suppliers.
  • An acceptable TCIR level.
  • ISO-14001 system compliance.
  • No OSHA or EPA violations.
  • Compliance with environmental rules and regulations.
  • 5 core/5 life audit compliance.


What you will bring to the position:

  • A Bachelor s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field, OR equivalent relevant experience is required.
  • Seven plus (7+) years of EHS experience is required.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • CSP, CPEA or equivalent Certifications are a plus.
