Position Description

The Associate Project Manager will be part of the Operations organization in North America (NA). The primary focus of the position is to manage projects that support the objectives of NA Operations.

- Leads projects of low to medium complexity, ensuring goal achievement to time, budget and quality.

- Communicates with the Project Owner to ensure clarity in scope and deliverables and to ensure timely decision making.

- Participates in the estimation of project requirements as part of the annual resource and budget planning cycle.

- Responsible for project documentation and reporting, including project progress, adherence to plan, and budget status.

- Applies project management methods and tools in accordance with QIAGEN standards. Identifies and follows applicable quality system processes.

- Responsible for stakeholder management.

- Responsible for project risk management in coordination with Project Owner and stakeholders.

- Manages multiple projects simultaneously. Monitors individual and project team capacity, adjusting priorities where necessary and communicating constraints and opportunities.

- Facilitates availability of tools and training as required for the team to perform effectively.

- Works in a supporting role when needed to achieve Operations objectives, both within and outside of assigned projects.

Position Requirements

- Typically 3-5 years of relevant professional experience.

- BS/BA degree or higher in science, engineering or related area

- Fluency in English is required

- Certification in project management (e.g. PMI, IMPA, ISO) at a low to intermediate level or practical knowledge in the handling of corresponding project methods in accordance with PMI, IMPA, ISO or QIAGEN

- Theoretical knowledge of the organization of change processes. Working knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to IVD manufacturing is preferred.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

- Demonstrated ability to lead a group in accomplishment of a shared goal

- Strong negotiating and influencing skills.
