SummaryDrives truck with capacity of more than 3 tons, to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Flatbed driving experience.Prepare reports (i.e. safety reports)Examine vehicle to detect malfunctions, damage, or maintenance neededService vehicle with water, fuel, or oilLoad, unload, or stack containers, materials, or productsStrap/secure loads (tarp/unload tarp when required)Class A commercial licenseMaintain driver log according to I.C.C. regulationsUse established traffic/ transportation procedures follow traffic lawsPerform safety inspections in transportation settingRead maps - use geographic positioning system (GPS)Use local or regional geographical knowledge to transportationUse weighing or measuring devices in transportationVerify cargo against shipping papersPrepares receipts for load picked up. Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions. Performs emergency roadside repairs as required.
