ApplyJob TypeFull-timeDescriptionReports To: Regional Organizing DirectorDepartment: OrganizingWork Location: In-DistrictJob Type: Full-Time, Salary ExemptSupervisory Responsibilities: YesPosition Summary: The DCCC is seeking experienced Organizing Directors to work on competitivecongressional races for the 2024 cycle. Organizing Directors will work closely with DCCC Organizing Leadership, serving as the point of contact on the ground, and are responsible for directing the day-to-day organizing operations for a congressional campaign. They are responsible for planning and executing the campaign field plan, managing field staff, and are accountable for all quantitative and qualitative field metrics. The Organizing Director is also responsible for opening and managing District HQs.This position is part of a collective bargaining unit.Responsibilities Include:* Working with the assigned Regional Organizing Director to develop, and then implement an in-district organizing plan to turn out Democratic voters.* Hiring and managing a team of organizers to build up a strong volunteer program, conduct voter contact, and host events.* Developing strong relationships with local party leaders, grassroots organizers, and key activists.* Coordinating regularly with congressional campaign leadership so that the organizing program is supported by and integrated into the overall campaign strategy.* Building and implementing systems and structures to lead organizers to successfully meet daily, weekly, and phase goals for capacity building and voter contact, as well as maintain data integrity.* Other department responsibilities as needed.Requirements* 2+ cycles of campaign organizing experience, including 1 cycle of staff management experience, is strongly preferred.* Prior experience recruiting, training, and managing volunteers on electoral or issue campaigns in a paid staff capacity is required.* Proficiency in VAN or PDI, Google Docs, and MobilizeAmerica.* Familiarity with peer-to-peer texting, relational, and dialer tools.* Experience developing, training and empowering volunteers.* Strong ability to build relationships and foster a positive team culture.* Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.* Ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure and problem solve effectively and creatively.* Access to a vehicle or other, reliable means of transportation.* Draws from team members' strengths, empowering them to maximize their talents; contributes where needed to achieve and exceed goals; mentors and guides colleagues with regular feedback and recognition; clearly lays out vision and expectations to the team* Proactively fosters an inclusive atmosphere and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion* Ability to demonstrate multicultural competence - the awareness, knowledge and skills needed to work with others who are culturally different from self in meaningful, relevant and productive ways* Personal and professional commitment to promoting and investing in cross-cultural skills and awareness related to individuals from broad backgrounds, races, ethnicities, religions, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability.* Proven interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to build relationships with staff at all levelsWhy You Should Work Here:* We recognize and reward hard work* A high-quality benefit package for all eligible employees that includes:* More than 25 days of paid time off (which includes federal holidays, time off around the holidays, vacation, and sick days)* Excellent health, dental, and vision insurance where 100% of the monthly premium is paid for by DCCC for employees, families, and dependents/partners.* Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) and Life insurance provided to all DCCC employees, paid for fully by DCCC.* Up to 6% retirement employer match contribution* Monthly mobile phone stipend* Monthly metro benefits (for employees located in the DC region only)* Gym Access (for employees located in the DC region only)* Opportunity to contribute at a growing, dynamic national political committee working to sustain the Democratic congressional majority to advocate on issues America care about most.* Learn, develop, and hone professional skills related to running and operating multi-dimensional political campaigns and the operating systems that support the campaigns.* Experience working with the largest Democratic battlefield, containing numerous highly competitive campaigns in diverse districts across the nation.* Opportunities to expand your network and engage with policy makers, political candidates, Democratic Party leaders and a diverse team of professionals and colleagues.* Gain experience in cross-team interaction and exposure to other functions and departments within the DCCC.* Equity and inclusion are actively integrated into decisions made at Senior Team and Department levels regarding hiring, contracting, and political strategy* Professional Development programming dedicated to personal and professional growth beyond the 2024 election cycle)About the DCCC:The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U.
