  • JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
    • Reports to:
      • Lead Clinical Coordinator
    • Job Summary:
      • Collaborates with the health care team to plan and implement appropriate nursing care to meet patient needs by following the appropriate policies and procedures of the assigned department.
      • Facilitates timely and efficient patient throughput at CalvertHealth Medical Center.
    • Education:
      • Completion of an accredited LPN program.
    • Registration/Certification/Licensure:
      • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Maryland Board of Nursing or compact state
    • Experience:
      • Minimum one (1) year experience managing patient care according to patient needs and within the scope of licensure.
    • Other Requirements:
      • Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
      • Effectively communicates with all patient populations and staff by implementing organization-wide communication techniques as a daily practice and promoting a positive, professional work environment.
      • Effectively advocates for quality patient safety and satisfaction as a daily practice.
      • Demonstrated proficiency of computer skills necessary to effectively complete position requirements.

  • TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
    • Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
      • Performs and documents delivery of nursing care via the nursing process. Utilizes a multi-disciplinary approach to determine and execute the most effective plan of care by consulting with providers or other clinicians as required and adjusting nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care. Performs duties according to established standards of care for populations served.
      • Records all care information concisely, accurately, and completely and in a timely manner in the appropriated format and on appropriate paper forms, if necessary. Nursing care documentation includes patient history, conditions, treatments, response to treatments, pain management, assessment of changes, and notification of and response by appropriate clinicians.
      • Practices within nursing standards of practice and follows CalvertHealth policies and procedures.
      • Adheres to policies and procedures for medication administration and documentation.
      • Uses proper aseptic/sterile technique and infection control practices according to accepted standards of practice.
      • Assesses, plans, and implements individualized patient/family education on provided nursing care, identified home care needs, medication administration needs, and discharge instructions.
      • Delegates authority and responsibility effectively to provide safe patient care.
