Job 32 Software Engineer Principal II

Job description

Supporting a U.S. Government customer on a large mission critical development and sustainment program to design, build, deliver, and operate a network operations environment; including introducing new cyber capabilities to address emerging threats. Seeking a SAFe Prin. Software Engineer (Cloud) to support the design, development, and deployment of advanced cybersecurity capabilities.

Responsibilities Include:Leading and collaborating within Agile Scrum teams as an Agile Release Train (ART) lead responsible for developing advanced, leading-edge, cloud-oriented automation and orchestration architectures that provide rigorous, self-validating cybersecurity capabilities to a major U.S. Government customerLeading and facilitating program & team-related Agile events (PI Planning, Release Governance, Stand-Ups, Sprint Planning, etc.) while maintaining all artifacts (Backlogs, Decisions, Blockers, etc.)Eliminating impediments and actively addressing issues so that the team can remain focused on achieving the objectives of the Program Increment (PI)Escalating as needed when blocking issues are beyond a team s authority or require support from other teamsFostering a collaborative team environment through coaching & leading appropriatelyLeading and facilitating preparation & readiness for ART events & assisting teams in preparation for ART activities (e.g., PI Planning, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt, etc.)Collaborating within Agile Scrum teams as a key contributor responsible for the design, test and implementation of advanced cybersecurity infrastructure capabilitiesReview high quality technical documentation, including user guides, test plans, and contract deliverable items and supporting product trainingDevelopment of risk assessments and risk mitigation countermeasuresDefining and communicating a shared technical and architectural visionLeading Agile Scrum teams in the system design and implementation of advanced, cloud-oriented autonomous cybersecurity capabilitiesInterfacing directly with customers, stakeholders, and end-users regarding capability architectures, requirements, use cases, and stories to derive, develop and decompose next-cycle updates and specifications.Full lifecycle oversight of requirements driven automation architecture

Required Skills:U.S. CitizenshipActive Secret (S) clearance. Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearanceMust be able to obtain DHS SuitabilityProven leadership skills and meaningful experience successfully leading projectsDemonstrated experience with Lean-Agile principles, metrics, and technology and/or experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Lean Thinking, Lean Six SigmaExperience communicating with senior leadership, either at Customer, VP, or Director levelsAbility to shape key stakeholder direction and influence outcomes through the analysis of information and identification of relevant factsIndependently driven, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills10+ years of professional experience in a technology related field5+ years direct experience in either complex autonomous package builds, autonomous api driven backends, infrastructure automation and orchestration, event driven micro-service architectures, orchestrated infrastructure automation, or configuration driven deployments2+ years of experience in either AWS, MS Azure or GCPStrong working knowledge of either multi-environment autonomous orchestration, automation tooling, pipeline deployments, or software application integration

Desired Skills:Experience leading teams and projects at either the tech lead or product owner levelFamiliarity with Jenkins, Artifactory, Jira, Git, Ansible, Chef, AWS lambda, terraform or cloud native tools like CloudFormationProgramming experience (Java, Javascript, .Net, Python, or Ruby)Familiarity with using, updating, and programmatically manipulating Linux and WindowsExperience with NTP, DNS, Networking, LDAP, or Software repositoriesExperience with branching and release strategies, CI/CD Pipelines,AWS cloud technology knowledge and implementation experienceExperience designing and implementing event driven microservice architecturesExperience in technical oversight of individuals and projectsExperience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps environmentsScaled Agile Framework (SAFe) knowledge and experienceExperience with agile tools, including Jira and Jira Align

Required Education: Bachelor s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field. Two years of related work experience may be substituted for each year of degree level education.

Desired Certifications:AWS Certified Cloud PractitionerCertifications related to Agile development and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) such as Scrum Master, Product Owner, SAFe Agilist (SA), SAFe Practitioner (SP) or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC)"
