Data Specialists assist with data management, visualization, and documentation, and work in collaboration with researchers to meet client needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Data FormattingTake disparate data and find common themes that add coherence and organization.Connect multiple independent data streams to build unified datasets.Update and maintain data structures so they continuously evolve to address the realities of the environment and meet the information needs of the data consumers.Coordinate projects with research specialists to tailor data to user information needs and meet research quality standards.Data VisualizationCreate visualizations that display data in appropriate and innovative ways.Ensure visualizations help clients achieve their missions and provide relevant, actionable insights from their data.Knowledge ManagementBecome an expert at organizing, ingesting, and presenting complex data to make it easily digestible for clients.Use knowledge management expertise to create solutions for how to organize large spreadsheets and large sets of files.Develop appropriate documentation for data managementContent CreationCreate web-based content using Tesla s content management system, and design creative ways to display information in text and visualizations.Help clients make clean and discoverable content on Tesla s platform.Support Automated Data Collection EffortsIdentify opportunities for the data team to automate information extraction and implementation of AI and ML techniques

Required Qualifications:Must be familiar with Tesla programsFluency in EnglishBasic coding skillsBachelor s degreeUS citizen

Desired Qualifications:Educational or work experience in international affairs or a related fieldKnowledge and experience using Python, HTML, or Javascript

Salary:

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Tesla, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $50-55k.
