Software Engineer III - Back End

The Cascades FDIC Internet Services Team is looking for an experienced Drupal Back End Engineer to join the Team. This position requires experience with Drupal and Command Line Interface, Drupal site-building (including Twig)

This is a remote position.

In this position you will 1) Build Drupal FDIC.gov site on cloud.gov, minus content; 2) and planning for lift-and-shift to Acquia cloud with the migration of .gov content

Primary Responsibilities:

In this role, you will serve as an emerging individual contributor within a team, expanding your leadership, guidance and mentoring skills. With the support and guidance of leadership, you will be responsible for supporting the goal of meeting scope, schedule and delivery requirements. You will interact with stakeholders and utilize influential skills to drive improvements in software engineering processes and practices. Primary expectations of a Software Engineer III - Back End include:

  • Estimates and completes development tasks including coding, requirements gathering, and analysis with a little feedback and guidance from their team
  • Practices technical and communications skills to improve context knowledge and mentor junior developers
  • Assesses and diagnoses issues with the systems they own, prioritizing problem areas based on alignment with other practice areas
  • Participates in on-call rotations with their team as necessary
  • Presents on and writes about their work to both internal and external parties
  • Participates in planning sessions, building understanding of major architectures and design patterns
  • Supports recruiting efforts by evaluating homework assignments and potentially assisting with interviews
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of engineering experience
  • Relevant years of experience may be substituted for education
  • Expert knowledge of software tools, platforms, and processes required to support the associated technology tower such as C#, .NET, Java, SOA, or other OOA/OOD languages, Microsoft suite of tools, SAP, PS, ETL tools and/or other package software applications;
  • Expert knowledge of databases and related tools and utilities (as applicable above); problem-solving skills and proven record of working well in a team environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in analysis, leadership, and communication skills (verbal and written) across all organizational levels. Experience in Drupal module development
  • Experience in Drupal site-building
  • Experience with version control
  • Knowledge of Drupal security best practices
  • Experience with command line interface (CLI)
  • Experience with third party application integrations into Drupal
  • Knowledge of security and patching, in regard to Drupal maintenance
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Acquia certification
  • Acquia Certified Developer - D9/10
  • Acquia Certified Front End Specialist - D9/10

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and responsibility.
