Job description

Responsibilities:

Database Design and Implementation: Design, implement, and optimize NoSQL database solutions tailored to our specific requirements. This includes data modeling, schema design, indexing, and query optimization.

Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance and conduct performance tuning activities to ensure optimal performance and scalability of our NoSQL database systems. Identify and resolve bottlenecks to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Data Integration: Collaborate with software engineers and data scientists to integrate NoSQL databases with existing and new applications. Ensure seamless data flow and compatibility between different systems.

Data Security and Compliance: Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data stored in NoSQL databases. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or industry-specific requirements.

Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies for NoSQL databases to safeguard data against accidental loss or corruption. Test backup procedures regularly to ensure reliability.

Monitoring and Maintenance: Set up monitoring tools and processes to proactively detect and address issues in NoSQL database systems. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as software upgrades and patch management.

Documentation and Training: Document database design, configuration, and operational procedures. Provide training and support to other team members to ensure proper usage and maintenance of NoSQL database systems.

Research and Evaluation: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in NoSQL database technologies. Evaluate new tools and technologies to assess their suitability for our organization's needs.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., MongoDB Certified Professional) is a plus.

Proven experience working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, Couchbase, or Redis.

Strong understanding of database design principles, data modeling techniques, and query optimization.

Proficiency in programming languages commonly used with NoSQL databases (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java).

Experience with database performance tuning, scalability, and high availability strategies.

Knowledge of data security best practices and experience implementing security measures in NoSQL database environments.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is desirable.
