**Position Description:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Developer to join our development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing high-quality, scalable, and efficient Java applications. As a Senior Java Developer, you will mentor other developers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the architectural design and development of software solutions.

This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. Due to the nature of this government contract, US Citizenship is required.

**Your future duties and responsibilities:**

- Design, develop, test, and debug Java applications using industry best practices.

- Lead and mentor a team of developers to ensure high-quality code and adherence to coding standards.

- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.

- Participate in the architectural design and implementation of software solutions.

- Optimize application performance and scalability through code refactoring and performance tuning.

- Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to coding standards.

- Identify and resolve technical issues and bugs in a timely manner.

- Stay updated on emerging technologies, programming languages, and best practices in software development.

**Required qualifications to be successful in this role:**

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.

- 5 years proven experience as a Java Developer, preferably in a senior or lead role.

- Strong proficiency in Java programming language and related frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, etc.).

- Experience with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks (Angular, React, etc.).

- Knowledge of database concepts and experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.

- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools (Scrum, Kanban, JIRA, etc.).

- Solid understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus.

- Certification in Java programming or related technologies is a plus.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $85,800.00 - $168,900.00.
