One (1) Library Aide (Computer Lab)
7 Hours/189 Days

6:50AM-2:20PM

Must possess a High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent

and have basic computer skills.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

POSITION:

Library Aide/Technology, STEAM

RESPONSIBLE TO: BUILDING PRINCIPAL/SUPERINTENDENT

JOB GOAL: To assist the Middle School in the organization and coordination of school wide STEAM activities by utilizing the new equipment, existing equipment, digital platforms, and traditional reading materials, in the effort to provide the middle school with a hub that can coordinate activities that merge 21st century equipment and technology into traditional educational frameworks. The role is to assist in bringing the design thinking model of H.I.V.E. to life. Help our teachers, and students to infuse new age technology into everyday pedagogy to follow all Licking Heights policies and procedures as outlined in the Board Policy Manual.
To provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning Media Center, that provides an environment that encourages and supports learning. The library aide also provides students, staff, and parent's access to reading materials, curricular materials, and other media supporting the goals of the school.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
One year related experience preferred
Proficient at using and demonstrating 3-D printer usage.
Bandwidth to learn how to use new age technology.
Proficient at using and demonstrating usage of engraving printers.
Proficient at using and demonstrating usage of Bots.
Understanding of digital learning platforms.
Understands how to inventory Chromebooks in one to one system.
Willing to help instill in students the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic value.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board Of Education may find appropriate.
Should be an active reader.
Have advanced computer knowledge.
Collaborates with staff, administration, and the community.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Library Management:
Maintain the organization and upkeep of the school library, including shelving books, cataloging new acquisitions, and ensuring a conducive learning environment.
Assist students and staff with locating and checking out library materials, providing guidance on utilizing library resources effectively.
Oversee the circulation system, ensuring accurate record-keeping of borrowed and returned items.
Collaborate with teachers to curate library resources that align with curriculum objectives and support instructional needs.

Technology Coordination:
Coordinate the scheduling and usage of technological equipment within classrooms, including Qomo board, Fab labs, and other STEM equipment.
Assist in the implementation of technology-enhanced learning initiatives and integrate digital resources into classroom instruction.
Ability to help staff and students gain knowledge about the proper utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for educational purposes and to enhance the curriculum

Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate records of the school's book inventory, including additions, withdrawals, and inventory levels.
Assist in the selection and procurement of new library materials, taking into account curriculum requirements, student interests, and educational trends.
Conduct periodic inventory audits to assess the condition and availability of library resources, making recommendations for replenishment or replacement as needed.

Space Utilization:
Ensure the efficient utilization of library space, including study areas, computer stations, and collaborative workspaces.
Coordinate the scheduling of library facilities for meetings, presentations, and other school events, ensuring proper setup and cleanup.
Collaborate with teachers to design and implement instructional activities that utilize library resources and foster student engagement and learning.

General
Consults and cooperates with staff on maintaining and aligning collections to student and staff needs.
Collaborates with staff, administration, and the community.
Keep current on research techniques, plagiarist issues and Internet safety.
Performs such other duties as directed by the principal as pertains to job description.

Consistent requirements to lift, carry, push and pull various supplies and/or equipment up to a maximum of 50 pounds.

EVALUATION: Performance of these responsibilities will be evaluated by the School
Building Principals in accordance with the provisions of the
Board's policy.
