**Description**

Lead the design, implementation and day-to-day operations related to iSeries/AS400 Servers, storage and backup technologies. Support Linux in the VMWARE and Microsoft Azure environments. Work as a project lead and/or technical liaison, provide 247 support and for issue escalations and mentor junior team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Install, configure and manage IBM iSeries systems, backups and storage.

* Expertise in Power Systems Hypervisor, HMC and VIOS.

* Install, configure and manage IBM DS8000 storage and replication.

* Configure and manage software lifecycle management environment, Aldon CMS.

* Experience supporting application development needs in a fast paced environment.

* Install, configure and manage Linux systems, storage and backups on VMWARE and Microsoft Azure cloud environment.

* Lead the technical and financial evaluation, design, integration, implementation and support of enterprise-wide iSeries/Linux compute and storage environments.

* Expertise in automation and configuration tool sets including Ansible, Terraform and vRA(vRealize Automation) and scripting tools including shell scripting, Perl scripting and Python

* Operate the Linux/iSeries and storage environments on prem and on Microsoft Azure by assisting in incident/request management process and by troubleshooting and resolving issues

* Install and support advanced server based infrastructure, assuring data security and integrity, and ensuring consistent up-time and performance.

* Identify innovative, cost effective ways to provide enterprise infrastructure support.

* Develop staff to assure replacements are in place.

* Perform administrative functions related to monitoring, support, project activities and capacity plans.

* Initiate activities and projects related to areas of responsibility.

* Prepare and communicate status, issues, and opportunities to the business.

**Qualifications**

* At least 5-10 years of experience supporting IBM Power Servers and DS8000 Storage.

* At least 2-5 years of experience supporting Linux Servers and related infrastructure.

* Working knowledge of VMWare and Microsoft Azure cloud.

* Experience supporting warehouse management applications and Mark Magic.

* Knowledge of Apache and Websphere server configuration and troubleshooting.

* Experience in Control Language Programming, BRMS, and performance tools.

* Knowledge of monitoring/alerting/capacity planning across the server based infrastructure.

* Strong understanding of TCP/IP configurations and associated topologies.

* Certifications to support in-depth knowledge of various server technologies.

* Strong understanding of storage, backup/recovery and/or archive technologies

* Strong interpersonal, organizational and project management skills

* Strong communication skills including the ability to translate complex technical terminology for non-technical business partners

* 4 Year degree in Computer Information Systems or an equivalent combination of course work and job experience.
