The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) is a leader in energy and environmental products and services for power and industrial markets worldwide. Our headquarters in Akron, Ohio is currently seeking an Intern/Co-op to join our Lancaster Operations team out of the Lancaster, Ohio facility. The internship will provide an educational, hands-on experience to students pursuing careers in engineering under the guidance of the Operations Technologies & Design Engineering Manager.
This is a Spring/Summer 2024 intern/co-op position. The selected candidate must commit to working full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer.
Qualifications

- Designing hardware
- Setting up PLC and HMI's
- Working to update contract documentation
- Helping setup computers and check out systems.
- Working with controls engineers as required
- Determining changes required to existing programs
- Implementing/testing those changes
- Working with the controls group to determine the requirements for that software
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited two or four-year program, working towards a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related major
- Current GPA of 3.0 or higher, preferred
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, preferred
- Capacity to handle confidential information
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
