CERTIFIED ADDICTION COUNSELOR - MEDSTAR WASHINGTON HOSPITAL CENTER - INPATIENT PSYCHIATRY

Job description

Overview:

Come work with a great team! Signet Health manages the Behavioral Health Services for Medstar Washington Hospital Center (MWHC) and has a full-time opening for a Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) II or LPC.

This person will be responsible for completing Psychosocial Assessments, documenting in the treatment plans and conducting groups on the Inpatient units. Must have outstanding people-skills and the ability to work as a team. Must be detail-oriented, as well as capable of setting and meeting program goals.

Essential Functions

  1. Participate in agency-wide training programs and in-services.
  2. Document in the medical record according to requirements of regulatory agencies.
  3. Collaborate very closely with external organizations to communicate progress and criteria for discharge.
  4. Serve as a team player in all routine activities of continuous quality improvement.
  5. Ability to represent MWHC in the most positive manner, especially in partnership with our contractual clients.
  6. Some evening and weekends required, particularly related to covering groups when staff are on leave, out sick, etc.
  7. Other duties as assigned.


Requirements/Qualifications:

This person must have a minimum of 1 year of experience with the co-occurring population. Must be flexible to adjust to the needs of a fast-paced environment, demonstrate effective problem-solving skills and display excellent oral/written communication skills. Previous adult behavioral health, substance use treatment, group therapy and assessment experience is strongly preferred. Candidates must have active District of Columbia CAC II or LPC license.
