General Summary of PositionThe Philanthropyteam has an opportunity to join us as a Development Officer at MedStar FranklinSquare Hospital. This is a full-time opportunity, Monday - Friday with standardbusiness hours.
The Development Officer plans, organizes, and coordinates various developmentactivities, functions, and events. Coordinates the day-to-day administrationactivities including data management, gift processing, and acknowledgements.Will be supported in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding aportfolio of annual gifts and low-level major gift prospects.

Primary Duties
Manages aportfolio of annual donors
Develops andimplements thoughtful, strategic cultivation, solicitation, andstewardship plans for prospective donors
Anticipates theneeds of the Board members, leadership, physicians, and volunteers andcreates support for donor cultivation and solicitation meetings.
Manages andsupports annual giving at an entity level.
Attendsphilanthropy events to cultivate donors and plays an active role incultivation at these events which are mostly held during the evening andweekend hours.
Collaborativelyplans and facilitates events and meetings, contributing creative input.
Develops andmanages timelines for various fundraising activities to ensure plans andcritical fundraising processes are carried out in a timely manner.
Developsexpertise in strategically aligned priorities of the healthcare system.Assists physicians, program directors and administration with capital andprogrammatic funding needs.
Manages andsupports internal and external key stakeholder relationships.
Ensuresaccurate and timely disposition of gifts/donations to the financedepartment, as appropriate.
Manages giftacknowledgment process as requested by preparing customized and standardletters based on gift donor information; proofs and mails these letters todonors, as appropriate.
Maintainsaccurate and timely input of biographical, gift in fundraising software.Ensures integrity and confidentiality of information.
Meets annualactivity and financial performance metrics.

Qualifications
Bachelor'sdegree, Required.
Minimum 1-2years Administrative or donor support experience, preferably in afundraising, public relations, marketing, or related area, Required.
Excellentverbal and written communication skills.
Excellentcustomer service, problem-solving, and time management skills.
Proficiencywith various computer software applications
