PAINTER - 330101 Job Details Job Location Main Location - Mount Pocono, PA **Position Overview:**

The Painter is responsible for the maintenance and repairs of all painted surfaces and wall coverings in the facility and the property, ensuring superior service to all patrons and guests of the Hotel/Casino. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Mount Airy Casino Resort policies and procedures, Internal Control standards and Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board regulations.

**Essential Job Functions:**

* Responsible for the skilled maintenance and repair of all painted surfaces and wall coverings in the facility and the property. Ensures quality finish.

* Preps and repairs painted and wall covered surfaces. Performs furniture touch-up and /or refinishing when necessary.

* Able to select and prepare paints to match colors by the addition of tints.

* Ensures appropriate quantities required by obtaining surface measurements or job specifications.

* Possesses knowledge of surface preparation techniques, use of steam strippers, woodwork repair, repair of holes, cracks and joints.

* Possesses knowledge of different methods to apply paints, stains, varnishes and other finishes.

* Possesses knowledge of wallpaper techniques.

* Responsible for using scaffolds, cradles, ladders and drop sheets.

* Maintains inventories according to specifications. Discards used paints according to regulations.

* Strict adherence to policies, procedures, standards and safety regulations.

* Ensures security escort in restricted areas.

* Promotes positive guest, employee and public relations at all times.

* Responsible for the quality, consistency and presentation of all products and services delivered.

* Assists in other projects and handles job tasks as deemed appropriate.

* Attends meetings as necessary.

* Meets attendance guidelines and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.

**Essential Requirements:**

* Must be able to perform each of the essential functions and responsibilities satisfactorily.

* Must be a minimum 18 years of age or older upon employment.

* High School Diploma or equivalent required.

* One to three years of professional painting and proficiency in hanging wallpaper required.

* Possesses excellent customer service skills.

* Strong interpersonal qualities.

* Flexible to work any scheduled shifts and/or days, including weekends and holidays.

* Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid Pennsylvania Gaming License, if necessary.

* Adequate manual dexterity to operate office equipment and engage in lifting up to seventy-five (75) pounds.

**Other Skills/Abilities:**

* Must be able to obtain and maintain a non-gaming license as required by the PGCB.

* Must be able to handle exposure to areas where smoking is permitted.

* Must be able to handle exposure to chemicals.

* Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English. Must have oral and aural acuity and ability to respond to cues.
