Job description

Are you someone passionate about working with kids and serving in your community? We are seeking Speech Language Pathologists (SLP) to join our Columbus Speech and Hearing team!


Summary

To provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to children and adults of all ages with communication disorders in speech and/or language.


Essential Functions/Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Manage clinical caseload for all assigned clients. Clinical responsibilities include completing screenings, evaluations, treatment and/or consultative recommendations, generating all necessary client documentation, providing volunteer training/supervision if indicated, and meeting the high standards of the Center as described in our mission, vision, and core values.
  • Provide services at the Main Center, contract sites, community-based preschools, and/or community-based childcare facilities, as assigned.
  • Follow all policies and procedures of the Center as outlined in the Center and departmental manuals (ex. meeting deadlines for documentation, adhering to attendance standards, adhering to the dress code, etc.).
  • Complete special assignments, as requested (ex. sub for group programs, serve on committees; provide in-service trainings to peers, etc.). Participate in at least one community event (ex. health fair, community presentation, walk-a-thon, etc.) per year.
  • Work with the scheduler and managers to determine a work schedule that meets the needs of the Center.
  • Attend weekly Department Staff Meetings and monthly Center Staff Meetings, unless excused by the Assistant Director of Speech Services.
  • Create and meet annual goals as a part of the performance review process, including meeting department productivity standards.



Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master s degree in speech/language pathology.
  • Meet the health standards of the Ohio Department of Health, if required as a part of a specific clinical assignment (ex. preschool, school contract).


Licensure/Certification

  • Hold or be actively working toward obtaining the Certificate of Clinical Competence awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • Hold or be actively acquiring a license in speech pathology from the State of Ohio.
  • Hold license in speech pathology from the Ohio Department of Education, if necessary.


Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, must be able to sit on the floor to interact with young children for extended periods of time, and must be able to move efficiently and quickly from one position to another.


Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not supervise staff. They do have the opportunity to work with graduate SLP students and CF supervision if they would like.


Work Environment

This position is held in a clinical setting, in the community (schools/preschools/community).


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position; Clinic hours and days are Monday Thursday 8:00 a.m.-6:30 p.m. and Fridays 8:00 a.m. 2:30 p.m. The expectation is that full-time clinician would work four evenings (Monday-Thursday) until 5:00 p.m. OR two evenings (of their choice) until 6:30 p.m. Part time shifts available.
