Job Title: Millwright

Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Job Summary:

Millwrights are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in factories, power plants, and construction sites. They ensure that machines run smoothly and efficiently, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation of Machinery:

Assemble and install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and schematic drawings.

Align and fit parts to specifications using tools such as levels, straightedges, and micrometers.

Maintenance and Repair:

Perform regular maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal operation.

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to determine the root cause of malfunctions.

Repair or replace defective parts, such as bearings, seals, and gears.

Conduct preventative maintenance checks and services.

Machinery Dismantling:

Disassemble and remove old machinery, ensuring proper disposal or storage of parts.

Prepare and maintain records of maintenance and repairs performed.

Precision Work:

Use precision measuring tools to ensure the accurate alignment and fit of machinery parts.

Conduct tests to ensure that machines are functioning correctly and efficiently.

Safety and Compliance:

Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Comply with all relevant regulations and standards, including OSHA guidelines.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in using hand and power tools, welding equipment, and precision measuring instruments.

Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components.

Physical Stamina:

Ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and stand for long periods.

Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Problem-Solving Skills:

Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and find effective solutions.

Strong attention to detail and precision in work.

Communication Skills:

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manuals.

Effective communication with team members and other departments.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or vocational training in millwrighting.

Several years of experience in industrial machinery installation, maintenance, and repair.

$30 - $50 an hour

Salary is commensurate with experience
