Position Description

Responsible for the overall care and upkeep of building interiors, entrances, and walkways in and around campus. Grounds work with focus on perennial bed management, and security of the Campus. This position is front line for the cleanliness of the College campus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide daily and at intervals deep cleaning of the College buildings to include emptying trash, cleaning the floors and restrooms, maintaining building entrances, and classroom/ office cleaning according to local procedure. Also monitor cleaning supplies inventory and ordering as needed.
  • Maintain the grounds of the College including mowing, trimming, and litter. Maintain all planting beds by planting, weeding, pesticide application, and mulching. In the winter, snow removal consisting of plowing, salting and clearing of sidewalks.
  • Perform shipping and receiving of campus storeroom orders and postal deliveries throughout campus. Perform periodic inventory counts, operates forklift and other vehicles to make deliveries. Perform inventory stocking and racking. Provide reports to Coordinator of Facilities Services for vendor orders.
  • Assist with event setup, teardown, transportation of campus assets and other event duties as assigned.
  • At all times, be responsible for ensuring the safety and welfare of the students, employees, and visitors of the College campus. Engage in other duties as assigned and arise for example:
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Ability to operate power tools and facility management equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must be able to stand a maximum of 10 hours per day on concrete/tile floors
  • Must be able to withstand seasonal temperatures
  • Must possess a valid Ohio Driver's License
  • Must possess basic computer and technology skills

Employment and Benefits

This is a part-time, non-benefits eligible position. The successful candidate can work up to 29 hours. The position is scheduled primarily afternoons and evenings. Part-time employees working an average of 20 hours per week are eligible for the waiver of tuition and general fees for one (1) semester course.

This position is considered "essential" and as such, may be required to report during non-scheduled days, evenings, weekends and/or holidays to assist with snow removal and other work situations.

The Search Committee will begin reviewing applications immediately. This position will remain open until filled. The final candidate is subject to the successful completion of reference checks and a background check.
