Description:

Markon is seeking qualified candidates to fill a vacancy for a Cloud Engineer role within one of our Department of Defense customers in the Quantico, VA area.

Responsibilities:

Transition existing on-premises infrastructure to a cloud architectureAnalyze current infrastructure and business processesDesign, Implement, and Automate environment creationRecommend best practice approach of transition to cloud technologies or hybrid approachDevelop transition plan that keeps current stakeholders informed during the processDocument procedures, plans, testing, diagrams, maintenance, training, SLAs/OLAsAutomate creation of cloud environment using scripting toolsImplement High Availability (HA) architecture, to maximize service uptimeWork with current and identify future customers to ensure their mission needs will be met with minimal impact during transitionFocus on integrating the services defined in the MCIEE BlueprintMigrate or re-engineer database design per requirements of analyst toolsInstall, configure, operate, and monitor CI/CD pipeline toolsTrain peers with administration/migration processesTrain customers of new processes/procedures resulting from cloud transition

Required:

Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (Security+ CE or equivalent)Amazon Web Services Cloud certification is requiredExperience with available cloud services SaaS, PaaS, DaaS, and Self-Hosted, or hybrid approachExperience with scripting technologies such as python, bash, powershellExperience with C2S, S-C2S, AWS, Azure\MSO365 and Marine Corps Private Cloud technologies and dependenciesExperience with auto scaling and load balancingExperience with DoD Cyber processes to include STIGsExperience with OS technologies including Windows and RedHat Linux servers and workstationsExperience with backup and recovery/DR solutions and processesExperience with Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) developmentExperience with the MCISRE and Blueprint servicesExperience with ESRI Enterprise service architectures and geodatabase systems, specifically ArcGIS PortalExperience with FEDRAMP, NIST, RMF, and other process standardsExperience with manual and automated security administration, remediation, and hardening (STIG reviews, group policy and permissions, system modifications based on vulnerability scans, audits, and mitigations; patch management)Experience implementing and supporting enterprise system monitoring tools MS Active Directory administration to include, but not limited to, Group Policy, Account Management, Domain Controllers, etc.Experience with tools such as git, gitlab, sonarqube, terraform, ansible, and jenkinsExcellent communication skills and interpersonal skillsAbility to work well independently and in a collaborative team environmentExperience with Marine Corps processes, procedures, and interoperability requirements
