Position:Food Services Manager
Reports To: Associate Director, Nutrition Services
Salary Schedule / Grade: Refer to DPS Operations Contract
F.L.S.A Status: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY
Direct the activities of food service preparers to provide meals to students according to operational procedures. Ensure that Food Services has all the products needed to furnish meals that meet State and Federal regulations for reimbursement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct the work activities of assigned food preparation staff.
Order food and supplies weekly based on the meal schedule and inventory utilizing the back of the house software system.
Receive orders and supplies. Turn invoices into the Nutrition Service office by the last work day of the week of receipt.
Send paperwork into the Nutrition Service office by the last work day of the week including but not limited to invoices, time and attendance records, etc.
Create production sheets in the back of the house software on a daily basis. Ensure that employees accurately complete production records, including food temperatures. Enter production information into back of the house system, within twenty-four hours
Responsible for accurate meal counts, sales revenue and cash deposits. End of the Day reports and deposit must be completed within twenty-four hours.
Verify that meals components served meet State and Federal regulations for reimbursement.
Responsible for training staff in operational and ServeSafe procedures and cross-training staff in key areas of food preparation.
Supervise the cleaning of food preparation and other work areas according to department standards.
Verify meals are cooked and held at correct temperatures at all times.
Observe and assess the performance of food service workers. Discuss performance issues with Supervisor when warranted.
Tabulate sales and prepare end-of-month cash journals.
Promote and maintain positive relationships with, but not limited to, co-workers, students/parents, Central Office Staff, Administrators, Principals and school staff. All interactions should remain cordial and professional.
Able to perform assigned duties without close supervision and apply problem solving skills as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements
Must be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the U.S.
High school diploma or GED
Verifications
Must pass Federal and Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation background check in accordance with Ohio Administrative Code Section 3301-83-06
Must pass an Ohio Department of Education T8 physical
Must have or obtain a Sanitation Certification within 6 months of appointment
CPR certification
School Nutrition Association certification
Knowledge & Experience
Three years of experience in food services or other food related job
Can use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards
Experience using WinSNAP, District Group Wise, and other computerized systems
PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES/DEMANDS
Frequently required to walk, stand, lift, carry, push/pull, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach
Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs as well as eye, hand, and foot coordination
Required to handle/grasp objects and perform repetitive motions
Ability to lift and/or move items weighing up to 40 pounds on a regular basis
Ability to read and write to complete forms and reports
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work regularly involves standing for sustained periods
Regular exposure to materials and hazards associated with food preparation
Periodic exposure to irate parents and disruptive students, as well as interruptions or distractions from late arriving children and/or teachers to the lunchroom
