Job Description:

L3Harris has an immediate opening for a Lead Project Engineer to support the Space & Intel software products in development efforts. The Project Engineer will be responsible for leading a project team to meet customer requirements within allocated cost and schedule commitments in our growing space business area.

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for full lifecycle Project Engineering support for a range of software development as well as integration efforts utilzing Agile Methodology and tools
  • Responsible for successfully leading a project team to meet customer requirements within allocated cost and schedule commitments in a growing business area.
  • Develops, oversees and coordinates the cost/schedule/technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer.
  • Reviews status of engineering projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports.
  • Assesses engineering issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Identifies, tracks, mitigates, manages, and dispositions program-level risks and opportunities.
  • Estimate resource and material needs for the project/product.
  • Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.
  • Understands how to develop a schedule using Earned Value (EV), and manage a project using the Earned Value Indicators.
  • Participate in small teams and perform a wide variety of tasks
  • Participate in a collaborative team environment on quick reaction projects and have regular contact with customers.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience in software development.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVMS) and Microsoft Project.
  • Experience with project engineering and program execution, and managing multi-discipline programs across multiple locations.
  • Experience in hardware/software integration programs.
  • Experience managing projects with budgets of $30M+.
  • Experience with Technical Supplier Management, Risk and Opportunity Management.
  • Experience with managing Agile SW development programs including using Confluence.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a polygraph
Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Experience with Agile PLM.
  • Experience leading Government Contract development programs.
  • Experience in Government contract acquisition lifecycle a plus.
  • Experience with management of design to cost activities.

    Experience with program, pursuit and proposal activities.
