Description

The Jr. HR Generalist is responsible for providing comprehensive support in the day-to-day operations of human resources, ensuring the effective use of processes, systems, and strategies related to talent acquisition, new hire onboarding, and HR operations.

Key Responsibilities

Onboarding & Training:
  • Coordinate and conduct new employee orientations.
  • Make suggestions for improvement for new hire orientation and onboarding process.
  • Assist with creating and improving new hire training materials and schedules.
  • Ensure new hires are set up timely and accurately in the eLearning System.
  • Monitor new hire completion of courses in the eLearning system, addressing non-compliance with learning plan deadlines and escalate as needed to ensure timely completion.
  • Administer new hire surveys to collect feedback and make necessary improvements.

HR Operations:
  • Assist in developing and executing procedures and policies and provide guidance and interpretation for business operations.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of employee engagement initiatives, wellness programs, and HR departmental goals.
  • Provide excellent customer service to current, former, and prospective employees.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee files.
  • Prepare HR documents such as offer letters.
  • Administer and enhance the company's social media presence as it relates to talent acquisition and human resource's function.
  • Provide basic administrative, data-entry, and filing support for all human resource functions and projects.
  • Perform backup duties at the corporate office Receptionist desk.


Talent Acquisition:
  • Assist with end-to-end recruitment process using the applicant tracking system to ensure all stages of process are updated accurately and timely.
  • Provide support to the recruiting function by creating and auditing job postings, reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews, conducting phone screens, and providing information on job opportunities to applicants.
  • Perform candidate searches using various resources such as job boards, job fairs, social media, recruitment agencies, and employee referrals.
  • Review employment applications and resumes to match applicants with job requirements.
  • Assist with selecting qualified job applicants to refer to hiring managers, making hiring
  • recommendations.
  • Attend job fairs and establish and/or maintain partnerships as needed with local colleges and universities.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn and use new software programs quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information in accordance with Comstock policy.
