**Manager - CBO Customer Service - Full Time - Days**

Toledo, Ohio **Description** **POSITION SUMMARY**

Manages revenue cycle operations within the CBO and between the various business units. Monitors and manages self-pay collections, Single Billing Office (SBO), cash posting and denial management to maximize reimbursement and to ensure compliance.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES**

1. Maintain and update all policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Ensure that they are reviewed with staff at least yearly.

2. Monitor and report the results of the area relative to assigned goals. Continually work on process improvement to meet those goals.

3. Work with other revenue cycle areas and other ProMedica departments on process improvements.

4. Work with Provider representatives and/or Managed Care Department on problems that cannot be resolved at the supervisor/staff levels.

5. Identifies specific system-related problems and work with appropriate personnel to resolve issues.

6. Maintains a working relationship with vendors related to area of responsibility. Review and approve vendor invoices.

7. Provide feedback to the director on issues impeding timeliness or quality of process and offer recommendations for improvement.

8. Stay current on all aspects of payer requirements, payer contracts, Medicare transmittals, Medicaid bulletins and other government communications and educate supervisors on what needs to be implemented. Assist in coordinating changes with Director, staff and IR departments.

9. Assists with analyzing and tracking of volume by payer, reviews appropriate workload distribution among staff and payer groups and shifts resources to growth areas as appropriate

10. Resolve all questions/issues regarding area of responsibility that may occur regarding day-to day operations and handles customer complaints.

11. Handle provider applications and maintain payer websites for government payers.

12. Performs various analyses and any special projects as assigned by management.

13. Is responsible for input on new employee hiring and performance reviews for department.

14. Other duties as assigned.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education:** Associates in accounting, finance, or related field

**Skills:** strong organization skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong quantitative and analytical skills by passing basic skills test with at least 80% accuracy.

**Years of Experience:** 5 years experience in medical registration, billing, customer service, collections or financial analyst experience in revenue cycle.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education:** Bachelors in accounting, finance or related field preferred.

**Years of Experience:** 7 years experience in medical registration, billing, customer service, collections or financial analyst experience in revenue cycle and in a hospital setting. 2 years in a supervisory/management role.
