MILITARY VETERANS

Job Summary & Role and Responsibilities:

A fiber technician plays an integral role in the telecommunication industry keeping us connected through telephone, high-speed internet, and television. They install and maintain fiber cables, as well as provide technical assistance in the designing and testing of fiber optics. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, running, and installing fiber optic cables, ensuring that they work properly. Examine and replace faulty and/or old fiber optic cables. Take care of fiber splicing and rectify fiber optic problem areas. Execute premises cabling and take care of the underground and underwater cabling requirements.

Training location: 77 South High Street, 29th Floor | Columbus, Ohio 43215

Job location: Jobs will be in the state of Ohio.

Requirement Details:

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED.

Possess a valid driver s license, clean driving record and a reliable vehicle.

Ability to pass both a background check and drug test.

Work Experience and Preferred Requirements:

Experience working in teams, with your hands, machinery, and ability to learn new skills

Ability to travel during the week (As needed) and work indoors as well as outdoors

Strength to push, pull and lift material weighing up to fifty pounds

Necessary Skills Set (Technical/Soft skills)

  • Organizational skills

Preferred Skill Set:

  • Cabling various electrical components
  • Operation and application of electrical components
  • Common measurement instruments
  • Utilizing hand and power tools
