The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) applies specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental, emotional, behavioral, and developmental disorders, conditions, and addictions. The LCSW-C participates as an integral member of the Patient care team. The focus is to recognize the patient and his/her family as the unit of care to assist them with the necessary psychosocial adjustments imposed by chronic or terminal illness to support their care goals. Social Work cases are managed on a referral basis, both formal with a written order and informal as identified by the Social Workers themselves or by a healthcare team member. Referral sources include the Physician, the Clinical Staff, the patient/family, and outside agencies (referral reasons are as defined in the scope of this role description). Demonstrates and develops specialized knowledge and understanding of the patient and his family to respond to their support, information, autonomy, and performance needs. Knowledge of theoretical and bio-psychosocial factors is essential. Social, psychological, and health factors and their interplay on psychosocial functionally on theories of personality and behavior, ethnic, social, and cultural influences, environmental influences, physical health, impairment, and disability, including mental and emotional controls caused by chronic and terminal illness.- Student loan repayment eligibility through the National Health Services Corps (NHSC)
- In-house interpreters are available for Spanish, Arabic, Nepali, Burmese, etc. at our Highlandtown location
- Current licensure as an LCSW-C by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Clinical Social Worker, preferably in an underserved community health setting
- Active CPR certification
