General Summary of Position Unit Highlights Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Assistant Nurse Leader (ADON) for our IMC & ICU. This full-time position requires 40 hours per week fromeither 2pm-10:30pm or 3pm-11:30pm. Noweekends or holidays are required. 18 bed ICU and 12 bed IMC caring for many patient case types. This role also has some oversight with Code Blue and Rapid Response teams. Key Responsibilities The Assistant Director ofNursing is a member of MedStar Health entity-based Division of Nursing andleadership team. Supports and collaborates with the Director of Nursing inproviding leadership and oversight for a specific unit/department. What We Offer Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who have a passion for criticalcare and a strong background in bedside nursing with progressive experience inleadership.
Directs and coordinates the nursing and patient care delivery of the unit-basedprofessional and support personnel. Ensures the provision of holistic,culturally competent, and person-centered, quality, safe, and cost-effectiveevidence-based nursing care for patients/families.
Applies the nursing process within the context of the organization'sshared/collaborative decision-making framework. Collaboratively manages thepatient's transitions across the continuum of care to assist patients andpopulations in achieving or maintaining an optimal level of health andfunctioning.
The Assistant Director of Nursing assumes administrative and leadershipauthority and responsibility during a specific shift (e.g., evening or night)for the assigned unit/department. Fosters associates' commitment to improvingquality, safety, and cost-conscious patient care outcomes.
Collaborates with the Director of Nursing in maintaining adherence toregulatory and accreditation standards, and MedStar Health's policies andprocedures. Demonstrates leadership and behaviors which are consistent withMedStar's mission, vision, goals, SPIRIT Values, patient care philosophy, andsound moral and ethical judgement.
