Job Description Summary:

This position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of nursing education and carries out supervisory responsibilities for the nursing development team. He/She utilizes strategic planning and project management to lead nursing education including, but not limited to, orientation, competency, regulatory, accreditation, and certification. The Manager of Nursing Education operationalizes the organization mission, vision, values, goals and objectives. He/She is accountable and responsible for administrative and fiscal management of the department. He/She acts according to educational standards, evidence-based practice, and OhioHealth policy.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
40% Management/Leadership: Manages staff as outlined above. This includes managing staff for productivity, job performance, morale and education and training. Supervises staff including work allocation, ongoing performance, teamwork, professional growth and problem resolution. Completes annual performance evaluations, provides coaching and mentoring and sets expectations and supports professional development. Supports the matrix environment of Nursing Education. Promotes relationship building among team members and care site nurses across the system.
30% Project Management and Education Development: Leads the development, implementation and/or evaluation, including return of investment, of system wide learning plans which include developing integrated curriculum strategy, creating implementation plans and determining evaluation strategy to ensure learning outcomes. Assures that learning supports the strategic plan, complies with regulatory bodies and promotes research and innovation. Participates in strategic planning development for nursing education to include future direction, clinical initiatives and balanced scorecard evaluation. Develops and manages the business case for programs including cost, benefit and impact.
15% Operations: Prepares and/or manages appropriate portions of budgets including operating, and FTE. Manages all fiscal aspects of the cost centers. Forecasts expenditures and prepares annual budget. Operates within budget guidelines; manages department expenses. Reviews monthly financial reports with Director, highlighting variances.
15% Educator/Facilitator: Assists in identifying learning needs. Ensures that educational activities are based upon identified learner and/or organization needs and current evidence. Collaborates with learners, supervisors and organization leaders to plan and present educational activities. Serves as a role model for other educators. Incorporates teaching and learning theories, curriculum and evaluation design and technological options into educational approaches.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's Degree (Required)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BSN required

MSN highly preferred
RN - Registered Nurse license
1-3 years' supervisory/leadership experience

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of learning methods, learning technology, adult learning and staff development. Experience with change management and project planning and development.

LOCATION:

Hybrid schedule: at home/Blom Administrative Campus. Regular travel to our different care sites required.
