is a think tank focused on privacy and surveillance law and policyand the communities they affect. Privacy is not a luxury. It is a fundamental right under threat from both government and corporate surveillance, especially for historically marginalized people. Through research and advocacy, we challenge that surveillance and work towards a world where privacy protects everyone.

The Operations Manager is the strategic operations and financial partner to the Executive Director and the Deputy Director. They will serve as a key members of the leadership team advising on how to best use Center resources and designing, implementing and overseeing operational procedures to advance the Centers mission and fulfill its contractual obligations.

They will be the primary contact person for all the Centers financial, operational, and administrative processes. This includes coordinating with Georgetown Law Financial Affairs on grants and operational funds, contracts, and revenue generating agreements and coordinating with Georgetown Law development on gift management and fundraising activities. They will also provide human resources support including managing hiring, onboarding and offboarding process. The Operations Manager will also be responsible for designing/maintaining internal operational systems and updating as necessary.

Work Interactions

This position reports to the Deputy Director of the Center on Privacy & Technology and will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, including attending weekly Directors meetings. This position will interact with all of Center staff as well as university officials including but not limited to the Centers and Institutes, Finance, IST, Office of Research Services, Development, and HR teams. This position will also work externally with foundation program officers, donor advisors, and other funders. This position handles confidential and sensitive information, including salary and HR information,

This position has been designated as Hybrid 2 Days. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. Requirements and Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
4-7 years of experience in administration, operations, finance, human resources, grant management or similar
Highly organized, detail-oriented working style
Self-driven work ethic & initiative and strong capacity for collaboration
Strong oral communication skills
Significant experience with Workday is highly preferred. Applicants should have a strong commitment to the Centers mission.
