IT Manager-Quoting Applications ( 100% Remote) at Windstream Communications in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description IT Manager-Quoting Applications ( 100% Remote) - ( 23003293 ) Description A critical role for a forward-thinking innovative leader, to guide our transformational team of software engineers in development, implementation, and maintenance of our Enterprise Quoting Applications. It is critical that this role establish and maintain strong business relationships with both leadership and frontline working teams. This individual will apply best practices, execution, leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to contribute and lead the application development team in continuous execution and delivery. Responsibilities: + Foster strong business relationships with both senior and operating level staff across the company. + Understand and provide recommendations for improvement of Business Processes by leveraging existing IT capabilities, as well as identifying improvements to existing IT solutions. + Stay abreast of business strategy, goals, objectives and operational performance metrics of Business Owners/Units. + Be a Thought Partner, engaged with Business Owners/Business Process Development teams to suggest solutions that meet their needs and follow IT/application best practices. + Educate business partners on roles, responsibilities, processes, and deliverables required to ensure effective delivery of new technology solutions. + Escalate, assist, and follow-through on resolution of issues related to delivery of technology solutions. + Engage with business partners to ensure effective delivery of technology solutions (development of business requirements, scope management, training business change management and deployment). + Accountable for gaining and maintaining alignment of delivery success criteria with business partners. + Accountable for identifying needs, securing commitments, and monitoring progress of deliverables from internal and external service provider teams. + Responsible for communication of progress to senior IT and Business leadership, including overall IT performance metrics, monthly project status reporting and quarterly resource planning reviews. + Ensure the quality of the product code (unit testing, automated testing, documentation, quality assurance). + Proactively identify opportunities to create improved user experiences by developing a deep understanding of end-to-end business processes and functions. + Organize and maintain performance of application issues in accordance with agreed SLA. + Ensures projects/programs are completed within the committed time and budget and are integrated with other software applications. + Maximize the productivity of a team of software engineers and build sustainable software systems, leveraging new technologies when appropriate and motivating others to utilize them. + Day-to-day management of 5-10 IT professionals, either as direct reports or sourced - HR administration, Time Reporting, etc. + Ensure IT application development process disciplines (solution delivery, project management, work requests, QA, etc.) and standards are established, effectively managed, and performed. + Responsible for coaching, counseling, assisting employees to develop individual career development and training plans. + Participation in the design, configuration, deployment, integration, development and maintenance of IT solutions and applications. Actual base pay for this job will depend on the candidate's primary work location and other factors, such as relevant skills and experience. Qualifications College degree in a Technical or related field and 5-7 years professional level experience with 2-3 years supervisory experience for roles with supervision; or 9 years professional level related Technical experience with 2-3 years supervisory experience for roles with supervision; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Technical experience required.
