Job Description:
Maryland Environmental Service (MES) is seeking an Environmental Field Technician to join the Technical and Environmental Services Group at the BWI Marshall Airport field office. Responsibilities include providing support for environmental science, engineering, and construction activities and services. Activities will be comprised of mostly fieldwork, with the possibility of some desk activities. Field work may be located around the Baltimore area or at various locations statewide. Projects may focus on stormwater structure inspections and maintenance, sanitary system inspections, aircraft de-icing fluid collection and monitoring, sample collection, oil/ water separator inspections, stormwater pond maintenance, emergency response, contractor escorting and other field duties.

This Field Office is a designated emergency essential facility, and therefore the ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and during adverse weather conditions may be required. Position requires the ability to obtain Homeland Security Clearance.

Estimated Pay Range:

$41,818.89 - $57,501.51

Minimum Requirements:

Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a GED equivalency certification plus one year of experience in sampling, inspection, data collection, geotechnical, GPR, environmental monitoring, or construction related field. Associate degree is preferred, but not required. Must be able to pass a standard pre-employment physical exam for this job. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing and the ability to follow oral and written instructions. Must have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points.
