Join AIR as a Data Science Associate in our Technology Solutions team where we use technology to transform the world we live in. Our cross-cutting Technology Solutions team provides technical expertise and solutions by focusing on responsive service and flexibility in delivery. We design, architect, develop, and deploy cutting-edge, user-centered solutions, including:

Software development of data collection, processing, and reporting solutions for data-intensive projects

Dissemination of data and information through websites and content management systems

Solving complex problems using machine-learning and artificial intelligence

Data visualization

Online training courses and media development

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for the position include:

Build cloud applications and data pipelines using platform as a service tools and/or open source tools

Develop visualizations, dashboards, and reports suing open source and/or business intelligence tools

Support efforts to collect, compile, validate, interpret, and analyze data using standard practices and techniques

Support computer modeling or simple to moderately complex forecasting using standard software packages

Support to quantitative and/or qualitative analysis using standard techniques and methods

Work independently and in teams on moderately complex assignments under indirect supervision

Create replicable, well-annotated code in a shared environment

Coordinate project support needs and requests for senior management and clientele

Develop systems for maintaining and checking the accuracy of data for assigned projects

Utilize external resources to supplement, organize, and contribute to tasks and projects

Present and occasionally support and organize content in internal and external meetings

Remain up-to-date on and provide suggestions for new technologies that can be used in research

Review and optimize others programming code

Provide innovative and suitable solutions to complex problems

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

A Bachelors degree in a field with computer science emphasis (e.g., Data Science, Data Engineering, Computer Science) with a minimum of 3 years experience or a masters degree in a field with computer science emphasis (e.g., Data Science, Data Engineering, Computer Science)

Python programming

Experience with database software (e.g., MySQL, MS SQL Server)

Experience with generative AI tools and applications for use

Interest in exploring and developing new tools for data applications

Experience with Python web frameworks Django, flask is a plus but not required

Experience with statistical packages like R or SAS is a plus but not required

Skills:

Comfortable with solution-focused problem solving and thinking through problems creatively.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate efficiently in a virtual work environment

Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

AIRs Total Rewards Program , is designed to reward our staff competitively and motivate them to achieve our critical mission. This position offers an anticipated annual salary of $83,200 to $102,000. Salary offers are made based on internal equity within the institution and external equity with competitive markets. Please note this is the annual salary range for candidates that are based in the United States.
