Job description

If you are a seasoned aircraft inspection professional looking to make an impact in a meaningful environment that supports and protects heroes, join our team! As an Aircraft Inspector III, you will be using your skills and expertise to inspect our aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment, and parts to ensure airworthiness and conformance to the manufacturer's specifications and government regulations. You'll be responsible for identifying any breach of standards for airworthiness. Your inspection authority will include all in-process inspections, final inspection of minor work (non-337 form), and approval for return to service of minor work (non-337 form).

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Must-haves:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 5 or more years of relevant experience
    • A higher level degree may substitute for experience
    • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment and parts
  • Understanding and experience with the practical application of product audit and inspection processes and procedures
  • Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)

Preferred:

  • Basic understanding of 14 CFR Chapter 1
  • Understanding of civil or government aviation inspection operations and/or FAA Repair Station operations.
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and illegal drug use.
