Youth For Tomorrow is a 501 (c) (3) and a faith based, non-profit organization, founded in 1986 by Hall of Fame Football Coach Joe Gibbs. The organization is large, diverse, experienced and committed to serving at-risk youth.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with department managers to understand the requirements, duties, and qualifications desired for the specified vacant position(s).
  • Creates job posting and advertisement on multiple platforms to source viable candidates that meet the needs of the organization.
  • Stays current to all YFT sponsored events, request and distribute Recruitment material
  • Aggressively searches all data bases, social media, and other platforms on a daily basis, to identify candidates for vacant positions
  • Phone screens candidates, selects qualified and interested candidates for the interviewing phase, and then connects viable candidates with hiring managers.
  • Follows up with clients or hiring managers after the interview process to determine whether a placement can be made; collects feedback when placement is unsuccessful.
  • Checks candidates' references and credentials, verifying experience and backgrounds.
  • Counsels candidates on the interview and hiring process.
  • Presents offers of employment, contingent on background check results, credentialing and other pre-hire requirements.
  • Assists with collection of background check documents via in-person appointment twice weekly in HR.
  • Follow the candidate through the background check process, ensuring completion of appointments, providing support as needed for timely hiring.
  • Scan all pre-hire documents to the candidate's electronic record. Complete pre-hire checklist to ensure compliance prior to hire.
  • Collaborates with other HR personnel to ensure hiring and training requirements are met for the HSPRS program, prior to hire and pre-service.
  • Communicate to the candidate and hiring manager when eligible to attend orientation.
  • Organizes and attends job fairs, campus events, and other networking opportunities.
  • Collects and analyzes data to maintain current understanding of fair and competitive market salaries, candidate availability, and demand for candidates in particular fields.
  • Maintains and ensures compliance with applicable equal employment opportunity (EEO) and related employment laws and regulations.
  • Track required immunization records to completion. Prepare and send communications to employees to complete required immunizations such as annual TB screening, vaccination boosters and annual flu shots.
  • Assist in continuous follow up of all required/missing information discovered for all new and active staff personnel records including assisting with the preparation and maintenance of all personnel records following Interdepartmental Regulations for DSS, DBHDS, ORR, VAISEF, and others, as well as YFT policy/procedure. This includes but is not limited to, maintenance throughout employment, background files, medical files, filing of all items in Efiles, Learning Management System updates, and HRIS electronic document files.
  • Perform customer service functions by answering employee inquiries and referrals to appropriate entities while representing YFT and Human Resources positively at all times.
  • Assist in process and procedure development and maintenance. Provide suggestions and recommendations to the HR Team for revisions and edits.
  • Assist with Program or Licensing Audits when requested and as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED TRAININGS: ALL TRAININGS REQUIRED BY YFT, LICENSING AND GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES AS WELL AS JOB RELATED TRAINING OR CERTIFICATIONS.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of High School Diploma
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field highly preferred.
  • Minimum of two years full-cycle recruiting and talent acquisition experience
  • Proven sourcing experience and techniques to attract passive candidates
  • Minimum of two years of human resources or related experience highly preferred
  • Bi-lingual Spanish - speak, read and write
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
  • SHRM's Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential a plus
  • VA Notary Public preferred
  • Ability to work on campus in Bristow, VA (HQ) a minimum of 2 days per week once trained.
