Position Summary

Work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist as dictated by the Ohio revised code. Be able to work in the following practice areas: medical/surgical, outpatient, home healthcare. Be able to treat individuals through the life span. This professional person will be licensed by the State of Ohio and have completed an accredited training program to meet all educational requirements.

Responsibilities

* Administer physical therapy modalities such as moist heat, ultrasound, and diathermy, joint mobilization, whirlpools (under direction of Physical Therapist).

* Instruct patients in use of therapy devices such as crutches and braces in a variety of physical therapy exercises.

* Document therapy activities and results in the patient's medical record.

* Discuss with a physical therapist and other patient care staff regarding the patient's condition, progress and treatment program, providing information in the program development and revisions.

* Clean and maintain physical therapy equipment and devices.

* Assist in transporting patients to and from the department using the appropriate mode of transportation.

* Perform related clerical duties as needed such as answering the telephone, scheduling patients, using the computer.

* Maintain professional expertise in current physical therapy techniques.

Requirements

* Licensed by the State of Ohio.

* Completed an accredited training program to meet all educational requirements.

* Orient to department and follow attendance, maintain patient safety, confidentiality, dress code, work schedule, and communication skills.

* Follow policies and procedures.

* Ensure personal performance reflects the mission, vision, standards of behavior and the service goals.
