Job description
Position Summary
The Sr. Accountant role will have a combination of assigned responsibilities that will serve the organization by
providing support and expertise to the accounting department for financial and planning needs. The Sr. Accountant
executes and reports the transactional business of the organization and is responsible for establishing and
maintaining policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. As part of the month end
close process, the Sr. Accountant is expected to assist in the compilation of the monthly Federal Election Commission
(FEC) report.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare various daily revenue reports to ensure integrity of all revenue
Collaborate with the Digital department to manage on-line contribution import files
Validate source code designations with the Finance department Monitor bank account to pull support for automatic payments
Initiate interfund transfer requests
Prepare bank reconciliations
Maintain Concur software by adding employees. Assist employees with questions on booking travel
and/or submitting expense reports
Prepare weekly Concur report to upload into Great Plains
Maintain Amazon Business Prime account by adding employees
Assist departments with credit card transactions and GL coding
Prepare weekly and monthly Concur payout reports to upload into Great Plains
Pull monthly credit card statements and corresponding support to send to departments
Assist with month-end close transactions
Reconcile and research daily variances between Great Plains and donor database
Ensure timely and accurate financial reports
Responsible for sales and use tax registrations, tracking and periodic reporting
Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation, sub ledgers and reconciliations
Prepare Annual Personal Property Tax Return. Assist in property tax audits, as needed
Other
Maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and internal control requirements
Demonstrate sound judgement in situations where clear direction is not available and/or interpretation of policies and procedures is required
Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Federal Election Commission (FEC)
Establish and/or improve current business processes, communication and workflow between the
Finance, Digital and Administration divisions
Facilitate complex transactions and act as a resource to other divisions
All other Ad Hoc projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Experience working with a non-profit, multi-entity or fund accounting industry is desirable
Fund accounting experience preferred
Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Ability to develop and establish financial policies and procedures
Experience using Microsoft Great Plains is desirable
Strong computer skills: Word and Excel
Ability to work well with others in a team environment
Possess the highest level of integrity and character

Education, Experience and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience
CPA experience preferred
