Job description
Gladstone Psychiatry and Wellness is seeking a Patient Care Representative for our Columbia location. The ideal candidate for this position will be enthusiastic about patient care, customer service, as well as have the ability to multitask in a fast paced office setting.
Description: The Patient Care Representative primary responsibility is to ensure positive and professional experiences for our patients. Patient Care Representatives engage patients in person, by phone and or email. Patient Care Representatives are responsible for engaging and greeting all patients, updating patient information in the proper systems, collecting payments, and advising patients of outstanding balances.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure front desk operations are open and available on time for patients and providers
Greet all patients and guest in a courteous and welcoming manner
Ensure proper verification of insurance and demographic information
Collect both co-pay and / or self-pay balances
Collaborate with Clinicians of the practice
Ensure documentation is entered and maintained in the EMR
Schedule follow up appointments
Send out appointment reminders
Ensure to complete all required workflows daily
Must collaborate with Call Center and Revenue departments
Notify patients and Clinicians of service delays
Must maintain multiple spreadsheets and multiple workflows
Collect, open and distribute mail and packages
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent Customer service, verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multitask in a high paced environment
Ability to make decisions
Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite and related products
Flexibility
Knowledge and understanding of the use of Electronic Medical Records systems.
Required Education and Experience
Highschool diploma, certificate or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year Medical Office experience is preferred.
Minimum 1 year face to face Customer service experience
Medical terminology is preferred but not required
Proven track record of customer satisfaction
Mental health / Psychiatric experience is preferred but not required
