Full Time (40 hours)

Rotating Shift, 5:30 am - 9:00 pm

Weekend work required

**Position Summary:**

Under supervision, assists cook in preparing, seasoning, and cooking food for Hospital patients, employees, and visitors; and/or participates in the preparation of baked goods, such as breads, rolls, cakes and other dessert and nourishment items. Also responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing and preparation of meat, fish and poultry items.

**Education:**

Work requires a level of math and English normally acquired through the completion of an eighth grade education.

**Work Experience:**

Requires a minimum of one year of prior cooking experience in a food service operation.

**Licensure/Certification:**

Serve Safe sanitation is preferred from an approved culinary program.

**Knowledge/Skills**:

Work requires a basic knowledge of food products and terminology, as well as the ability to read and follow recipes/instructions.

Work requires the ability to read, follow instructions, and prepare food in accordance with the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)food safety program. Requires the ability to operate machinery, food slicers, read menus, work schedules and prices. Ability to perform simple math calculations is necessary to count and monitor inventory. Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with hospital patients, visitors and staff to provide courteous services.
