Reporting to the Senior Director of Litigation Consulting, the Senior Litigation Consulting Manager is a pivotal leader within the Litigation Consulting Department and is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of our Litigation Consulting department and managing the associate, intermediate, and senior consultants. This senior-level position requires a blend of entrepreneurial vision, analytical thinking, and operational efficiency, complemented by exceptional communication, organizational, and relationship management abilities. The Senior Litigation Consulting Manager makes a strong contribution to all of the following areas: business management, budget and case management, department financial success, interdepartmental communication, development and mentoring of staff and consultants.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage and lead senior, intermediate, and associate consultants to ensure quality and timely service delivery consistent with IMS's mission to provide premier litigation consulting services.
  • Work with Sr. Director of LC on setting and overseeing budget and revenue goals for the Litigation Consulting department
  • Direct consultants and Case Management team's development of bids and client proposals.
  • Work with lead consultants, Case Management and Billing Teams to ensure that project bids are accurate, monitored against hours, and managed appropriately.
  • Work with Sr. Director of LC on resource gaps, hiring, operations, and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Sr. Director of LC, the Jury Research Services Supervisor, and Scheduling Team to ensure projects and engagements are staffed appropriately.
  • Manage and execute on new department initiatives; evaluate and report progress to Sr. Director of LC.
  • With the Jury Research Services Supervisor, develop, record, and lead the execution of new processes to improve efficiency, ensure quality deliverables, and manage workloads.
  • Cultivate relationships with other service departments to align on protocols and best practices, and with administrative departments to coordinate companywide initiatives, processes, and communications.
  • Act as a proxy for the Sr. Director of LC, attending meetings to represent the department when they are unable to attend.
  • Coach consultants and department team members to promote continual development; identify opportunities to develop leadership skills, ownership, and experience of employees.
  • Lead department initiatives to develop, adopt, and integrate new services and platforms for service delivery, data collection and visualization, and margin improvement.
  • Manage caseload and case staffing of team members to ensure client satisfaction, optimal utilization, and employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Oversee knowledge management for the Litigation Consulting department, developing and/or improving systems for housing and sharing department and client information.
  • Work closely with Scheduling Team to manage deadline crunches for team members and create solutions for balancing workloads and keeping multiple projects on track.
  • Coordinate with the Jury Research Services Supervisor and Sr. Director of LC to evaluate efficacy of contractor programs and identify service gaps and opportunities for improvement.


Requirements

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Experience managing teams and experienced professionals.
  • Experience managing budgets and financial performance.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage frequently changing priorities.
  • Demonstrates a high level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Works independently but collaboratively to redefine priorities and adapts quickly to new tasks.
  • Professional services, legal, or consulting firm experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a law or consulting firm is a plus.


EDUCATION & TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA or JD Preferred.
  • 7-10 years of management experience in professional services, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to use a wide range of department tools, resources, and department software.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Word, as well as proficiency with, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Travel 10-15%.
