Job Description
The Resettlement Manager position has a dual responsibility of leading and coordinating required services for newly arriving families through the Reception & Placement Program (R&) as well as coordinating with the State Director, to ensure that all RIS programs, including R&P, Matching Grant (MG), and state-funded programs, are in compliance with contracts and are meeting expected outcomes. He/she ensures staff has the training needed to perform assigned duties, and that clients and stakeholders are receiving quality services. This position is located in Virginia and covers Fairfax and Woodbridge locations.
Essential Functions
Maintain current knowledge of all Refugee and Immigrant Services programs;
Assign caseload and coordinate all direct services and support the R&P team as needed
Ensure that all core services mandated through the Department of State Cooperative Agreement are provided within allocated timeframes;
Oversees R&P staff, to include on the job training of new staff, setting goals, mentoring and staff evaluation, resolving issues and referring complex staff and program issues to State Director;
Review program contracts and ensure that services provided are in compliance with those contracts;
Assist in the development of program assessment tools;
Maintain accurate and up to date records and review program case files to ensure proper documentation of services provided;
Develop program forms and coordinate translation of the forms;
Oversee all aspects of quality assurance protocol;
Assist in the collection and analysis of program service data for reports and assist State Director to produce and submit reports in a timely manner;
Administer surveys to staff, employers, volunteers and clients to evaluate program effectiveness;
In cooperation with the State Director and VP of Operations, develop and maintain written guidelines governing program operations;
Provide technical support regarding contract guidelines to the Refugee and Immigrant Services offices;
Ensure any new program updates/changes are clearly relayed to staff (i.e., cooperate agreement changes and implementation);
Provide direct services, including suitability determination for minor, and case management
Outreach to and partnership with local service providers through mailings, phone inquiries, and person-to-person meetings to provide them program information and to inquire about available services. Make referrals as appropriate;
Attend all conferences, seminars and meetings related to program activities.
Coordinate services with other area agencies, including participation in Quarterly Consultation Meetings
Serve as interim in the absence of the State Director
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree (four year college or technical school) required, in one of the following field(s) of study: social work, social services, or related field
Other Requirements
Valid driver's license;
Clean driving record;
A personal vehicle or access to a vehicle required;
VA and FBI criminal background check;
Physical;
TB test.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of the United States Resettlement Program;
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills;
Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Cultural awareness and experience working in multicultural environment.
Minimum of 3 year of experience in providing direct services to refugees is required; a minimum of one (1) year of supervising staff is preferred
