[GR] Mechanical Electrical Plumbing Engineer for Operation & maintenance

Job description

MEP stands for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing. An MEP engineer is a professional who specializes in the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in buildings and other construction projects. MEP engineers collaborate with architects, construction teams, and other professionals to integrate these critical systems seamlessly into the building s design. They also consider energy efficiency and sustainability, aiming to minimize energy consumption and environmental impact. Their tasks involve creating detailed plans, conducting calculations, selecting appropriate equipment and materials, and coordinating with various stakeholders throughout the construction process. Additionally, MEP engineers may be involved in inspecting and maintaining the systems after construction to ensure they function properly over time. System Design: MEP engineers work closely with architects and other stakeholders to design mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems that meet the specific needs and requirements of a building. They analyze the building s layout and purpose to determine the most appropriate system design. Load Calculations: They perform calculations to determine the heating and cooling loads required for the HVAC systems. This helps in selecting the appropriate equipment and ensuring the building s energy efficiency. Equipment Selection: Based on the design and load calculations, MEP engineers select the appropriate mechanical and electrical equipment, such as HVAC units, pumps, generators, electrical panels, lighting fixtures, etc. Code Compliance: MEP engineers must ensure that all the systems they design and install comply with relevant building codes, safety standards, and regulations. Coordination: They work closely with architects, structural engineers, and other professionals to ensure that their systems integrate seamlessly with the overall building design and structure. Cost Estimation: MEP engineers provide cost estimates for the installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, helping project managers and clients to budget appropriately. Construction Supervision: During the construction phase, MEP engineers may be involved in overseeing the installation of systems to ensure that the work is carried out correctly and meets the design specifications. Energy Efficiency and Sustainability: MEP engineers strive to design systems that are energy-efficient and environmentally friendly, reducing the building s environmental impact and operational costs. Testing and Commissioning: Before the building is occupied, MEP engineers conduct testing and commissioning to ensure that all systems function correctly and meet the performance standards. Maintenance and Upgrades: After the building is operational, MEP engineers may be involved in its ongoing maintenance and upgrades to ensure that the systems continue to operate efficiently and reliably. Troubleshooting and Problem-solving: In case of system failures or issues, MEP engineers diagnose problems and find solutions to rectify them. MEP Engineering achieve a detailed understanding of the Contract documents (drawings and specifications), phasing plans, MEP systems interrelationships, construction sequencing, project schedule and operation & maintenance. Facilitate problem-solving, as may arise, between MEP contractors during construction. Validate design issues related to MEP and suggest alternative solutions. Assist in the receipt and review of MEP submittals. Log and post all MEP changes and as-built information on field drawings. Assist in the scoping review, budgeting, and justification of MEP change work order. Assist in the installation of MEP work. Direct, monitor, and control the activities of the MEP contractor. Coordinating and administrating MEP-related materials, systems, and shop drawings. Liaison with Consultant MEP supervisory Engineers, Inspectors, and relevant staff. Ensure that MEP contractors provide and adhere to relevant Quality documentation/records. Ensure that MEP contractors adhere to Project safety regulations. Assist in the testing and commissioning of MEP equipment. Management the maintenance of MEP and infrastructure equipment Maintain list of equipment, Planning the investment and maintenance, Implementation Site assessment for infrastructures Perform as service team member for MEP cluster services in Japan. Cooperate technical solution with coordinator and other locations member. Technical support to other locations (Yorii, Musashi, Tochigi, Misato, Izumozaki, Takasaki plant) on demand ( technical service coordination as proxy technical coordinator ) Mechanical or Electrical University degree in Engineering Project experience more than 5 years in general contractor or MEP general contractor Working knowledge of plans, prints, specifications, and schematics associated with trade. Construction procedures and practices Computer literate Possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Willing to learn English to obtain TOEIC score 700 within 3 years . Able to understand document in English and correspond email in English. Able to participate internal activities initiatively. Recognize efficiency, KPI and able to adopt improvement activities to daily work. Able to prepare presentation document from reviewer perspective.
